21-Storey Leeds Tower Approved on Marsh Lane: What It Means for Contractor Accommodation in East Leeds
Leeds City Council has unanimously approved plans for a 21-storey residential tower on Marsh Lane, east of the city centre, marking one of the most significant planning consents in east Leeds in recent years.
The scheme, brought forward by Credcoll Holdings and designed by Brewster Bye Architects, will deliver 212 apartments across a mixed-height L-shaped building. The tallest element rises to 21 storeys facing Marsh Lane, with further elements at 16 and 12 storeys. The apartment mix includes 98 one-bedroom units, 96 two-bedroom units and 18 three-bedroom units, with ground floor residents’ lounge, first floor gym and cinema, and a roof terrace at level 15.
The scheme is largely car-free, positioned directly on the A64 corridor with strong public transport access into the city centre.
What This Means for Contractor Accommodation Near Marsh Lane
A development of this scale doesn’t get built by local labour alone. From groundworks and concrete frame through to M&E, facade, fit-out and finishing trades, a project delivering 212 apartments will pull specialist teams in from across the UK for extended periods. Those teams need somewhere that works around a 6am start, a van full of tools and a twelve-week placement – not a hotel room at £130 a night with no parking and no kitchen.
Marsh Lane sits within the LS9 postcode, an area already seeing sustained construction activity as part of the wider Leeds South Bank and east Leeds regeneration corridor. With the A64 on the doorstep and Leeds city centre within walking distance, accommodation demand in this part of the city is only going in one direction.
Leeds Contractor Accommodation sources fully furnished properties across east Leeds and the wider city, with van parking, all bills included, flexible weekly rates and one point of contact.
